The 45-Year Journey of MEGOS: A Legacy of Growth and Innovation
In 1978, a vision took root in Hong Kong when the grandfather of MEGOS founder Ye Weilun established MESUCA, laying the first brick of what would become a thriving empire in the sports goods industry. This marked the beginning of a journey spanning 45 years, characterized by bold expansion, pioneering spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

As the years unfolded, 1997 emerged as a pivotal moment when Ye Weilun’s father recognized the immense potential of the Chinese mainland market. With foresight and determination, he led MESUCA into this new frontier, making it the first enterprise in China to research, develop, and operate a full range of sports equipment. This milestone not only solidified MESUCA’s position as an industry trailblazer but also set the stage for its future growth across the country.

By 2002, Ye Weilun himself stepped into the spotlight, founding the Overseas Business Division to expand the reach of MESUCA’s own brands into international markets. This move demonstrated a global mindset, as the company sought to share its quality products and innovative designs with consumers worldwide, further cementing its reputation as a player with international ambitions.
Three years later, in 2005, MESUCA achieved another significant feat by establishing over 5,000 self-operated stores in supermarkets and department stores across the nation. This extensive retail network not only made its products more accessible to customers but also underscored the brand’s growing popularity and trust among consumers.

2007 marked a new chapter in the company’s history as it secured the first official Disney authorization in China, formally entering the IP licensing industry. This breakthrough opened doors to collaborations with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Marvel, Sanrio, Warner Bros., Ferrari, and Lamborghini. By leveraging these powerful IPs, MESUCA was able to create unique and appealing products that resonated with a wide range of consumers, from children to adults, and further diversified its business portfolio.
In 2018, building on the rich legacy of MESUCA, Ye Weilun officially founded MEGOS, a brand that would carry forward the family’s entrepreneurial spirit into the next generation. Backed by a 100,000-square-meter logistics park and large-scale industrial production bases, MEGOS was equipped with the infrastructure and capabilities to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market. This strategic investment in production and logistics ensured efficient operations, timely delivery, and the ability to scale up as the brand grew.

Over the past 45 years, from the humble beginnings of MESUCA in Hong Kong to the establishment of MEGOS as a modern, global brand, the journey has been one of continuous innovation, strategic expansion, and a relentless pursuit of quality. Each milestone, from entering the mainland market to foraying into IP licensing and launching MEGOS, has been a testament to the vision and hard work of the Ye family and the dedicated team behind the brands. As MEGOS looks to the future, it carries with it 45 years of experience, a strong foundation, and an unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the sports goods industry.
